Really cute children's book with colorful pictures. Great for little ones learning to read. Noodles the dog is afraid when going to school, but then winds up loving school and wanting to go back. Repetitive words are used to make it easy to remember and easy to read. Letters are nice and big. Teaches little ones that school can be loved. This is the first Noodles dog character book I have ever encountered and am pleased. Both my boys and girl love them, and are so proud they can read a book by themselves after we read it together a few times.
The first time we found it at the city hall when I was picking up my baby birth certificate, and look for two more copies cause wanted to make sure to have other if something happens to that one!!! I love reading about the antics of Noodles the dog. This Maltese has a personality that will win your heart. He reminds me of my Maltese. I am a retired teacher and when I read these books to my class of 4 year old students, they always asked for more. Now I read them to my 4 year old granddaughter and she loves them too!
We have almost all of them and we read them often. We especially love the ones about the holidays!
This delightful little dog says it like it is. Hans Wilhelm is top notch illustrator. Mades any book extra enjoyable. One person found this helpful. This was an absolutely perfect book for early readers! There aren't many Thanksgiving stories that are designed especially for readers just beginning to read on their own, and the Noodles books are wonderful! Noodles is a dog with lots of spunk, and his adventures are always lots of fun! Author Nosy Crow, Marion Billet.
