To meeting Ryan just by chance the same night she was all twisted around, but recovered nicely. I love how fate kept bringing these 2 together. Even when they tried their best to avoid one another. Fate is funny like that at times. Ryan finally tries to get over his past and goes after Abbi, especially after his ignorance puts her in danger. He saves her then, and saves her later on again.
What is it about Miss Georgia that attracts these men??? Totally jealous on that one! Unfortunately, this ends disastrously. Again, Ryan saves the day! And I was ecstatic at the little "surprise" in the end, how he knew before she did.
But, I have to admit, I did see that one coming. Totally loved this book. Needs some minor editing, a few more details and such in a few places, but otherwise, great book!!! I give it 4. Ryan he's compassionate and I liked that, "her eyes read and swollen, Jesus he had actually hurt her. His guy tore in two, he had no idea why, but every fiber of him wanted to protect her and keep her from being harmed. He compliments me, wants to spend time with me, and be seen in public with me. You haven't done any of those things tonight Ryan. I have to go in this morning. Clothes, paintings, home goods. You name it and we are there. I read this a couple of nights ago and it hit the spot.
It's the perfect easy read if you're looking for a break from those super intense angsty reads. Y'all know i love my men protective and Ryan doesn't disappoint. He isn't as cocky as I like them but thats ok. He doesn't play games or give mixed signals and I liked that a lot!
Abbi is the typical girl with her own set of insecurities but she doesn't allow herself to miss out on the good things because of it. Ryan and Abbi both 3. Ryan and Abbi both have their own set of friends and I really enjoyed what they brought to the story. Although some of the events that happened seemed a little far fetched I had to remember this is fiction and anything can happen. This book has it all..

My kindle could hardly keep up with me! All the twists and turns Abbi and Ryan experience in this book were awesome! With this being a debut novel for Ms. Culbreth I was expecting over descriptive sentences or characters, or no character development whatsoever but there was I was given a reviewer copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
Culbreth I was expecting over descriptive sentences or characters, or no character development whatsoever but there was none of that. She did an amazing job keeping me in suspense but wanting more. I haven't received my copy yet, just received notice I had won. I have 2 others plus my current read in front.
She packed up and headed out to Los Angeles to leave her old life behind. All is going well until she literally falls into the arms of Ryan. He is one of the most eligible bachelors in Los Angeles battling his own past. This book was an okay read. Nothing to groundbreaking, I haven't received my copy yet, just received notice I had won. Maybe it just wasn't enough of a thriller for me.
Too much on the love story side, and not enough action. Oct 16, Novel Hoarders rated it it was amazing Shelves: To sum it all up in one word, amazing. I have recently been reading ARC copies of love stories which I don't normally do, they are too mushy for me and too foofy that's a real word. Jennifer Culbreth has forever changed my view of the genre. She combined the awesome head over heels fairy tale love between Abbi and Ryan with steamy love scenes intertwined with action that makes your pulse race.
From this point on I will be comparing all other books of this genre with this one. I find it hard t To sum it all up in one word, amazing. I find it hard to believe love stories get any better than this. Wow what a great new author! I loved this book for several reasons. Ryan was protective of Abbi but not over the top obsessed like I have been reading lately. This was just the change I needed. I can't wait for the next book to come out because I need to know what Judy has to tell Abbi. I really liked Protect Me. The author made me want to get to know the characters better.

This is the authors first book In a 3 book series. And I think she did a fantastic job! I think she had it all! Abbi Hastings came from a very small town in Georgia. Living in a trailer… Living paycheck to paycheck. Trying to save enough money to get out of her situation. She has some issues with trusting people…mostly men. Purely by accident she landed herself a bartending job at a trendy new bar in LA.
I am from the south you know. We watch wrestling in my trailer hood. Listen you go over there and prance around for him a little and he will be begging you for a date. That puts Abbi on edge right away! Ryan Dixson… CEO of a bodyguard company he started once he got out of the military. Sparks few once they first touched. But… Dealing with issues from his past in the military drove him to stay away from Abbi. Having issues with her parents growing up.
Abbi was very reluctant to giving in to her feelings with Ryan. Something he will always regret. Because something horrible happened to Abbi! When I read what had happened to her! I kind of knew something was coming.. I loved the way Ryan treated Abbi!! I am completely happy just having you in my life finally.
I have been stupid about this from the very start and I promise that I will do my best to make up for that for as long as it takes. But please know that all I ever need to be happy, is to see you happy and smiling. The last 2 chapter are full of action! Now …The only thing I did not care for was the over use of descriptions of everything. But other than that one detail… I really enjoyed the book a lot! Thank You Jennifer Culbreth for writing a good book for all to enjoy!! I am going back to work in two days, I don't care if I have to pour drinks with crutches holding me up.
Want to know how I pictured the cover? I saw a hot security guard standing with his arms folded and so on.. This cover is soo not what "Don't use your handsome smile on me. This cover is soo not what I imagined and if I saw this cover before reading it I would have skipped it, I know I know you shouldn't judge a book by its cover blah blah blah but that's exactly what I would have done in a rush. So I kind of made my own cover pahah!
I think this is how the cover should be.. Don't make me fire you on your first night, because I might get get used to seeing you in those shorts, or as you think lack thereof. She couldn't afford it and well she felt safe in her town so moving felt scary but times have changed and its time for her to be fearless, to explore and to find herself.
So when she finds out about her fathers death and that he has left her some money she takes a chance and steps into the unknown. She decides to move out of the small town and buys a one way ticket to Los Angeles. Here she gets a job at a luxurious club and tries to make it on her own. Its where her life collides with Ryan's life and everything changes for the both of them. Ryan isn't in the mood but has to go in for a job at a club. She intrigues him, captivates him and he wants to know more about her.
Fighting demons of his own and being tangled into Abbi's life, has he found his other half? Or will this all lead to more trouble than its worth? Fate had made damn sure she wasn't faltering from its plan any longer. He made me laugh, swoon and fall for him. I liked the other characters as well and wanted to know more about them.. I am going to have to meet this chick that has stolen your heart," Jace fluttered his eyes towards Ryan.
I finished this really quickly wanting to know what would happen next it kept me intrigued until the end and well I wanted more. It finished and I was like.. There were a few things I was like uhm what happened to him? What about this urghh answer my questions!! Lets hope the next book solves that problem for me. This is a fast-paced, funny, hot book with suspense and much more.. This is more than a love story its a journey, a story that keeps you on edge and hooked until the end. Oct 22, Robin B rated it it was ok Shelves: Where to start with this one First the positive I suppose.
I commend Jennifer for having the guts to publish her first book. The ideas were awesome and I thought this has a ton of potential. Unfortunately the execution of these good ideas landed squarely on it's ass. There are some decent sexy times and it does get suspenseful towards the end which I think is an awesome thing.
Now the not so positive- there's quite a bit- I don't think I'll leave any spoilers though. These are in n Oh my dear. These are in no particular order. At first I was a concerned as to how the author would change the focus from Abbi to Judy as it relates to Trent, but she did manage that pretty smoothly with the introduction of Alexis. And this allowed the suspense from book 1 to continue with resolution in book 2. So my rating is strictly based on how I struggled to relate to some parts of this book, and in parts to how they are written.
Some areas are written formally, and some more casually. I am definitely a fan of a more relaxed style unless the entire book is written formally Dec 30, Magic Within the Pages rated it it was amazing. I seriously loved this book, maybe even more than Protect Me, but I still enjoyed them both. Trent is still on the run and threatening as ever especially towards Judy and Abbi.
Jace and Ryan will do everything in their power to protect their girls. I fell in love with the characters all over again, I like how easily I can connect with them. Judy and her witty comments and come backs, there are parts where I was literally in fits of laughter. Jennifer does not disappoint she is a fantastic writer and captivates her audience. I highly recommend this book if you love romance, witty humor and some steamy scenes that get your heart racing. And once again beware Jennifer Loves leaving you hanging and wanting that next book right now!

This book picks up where the last book left off with a cliffhanger. Judy continues to have nightmares of the night she was shot and we realize that there is still a threat lurking in the background. Jace who is in love with Judy will do anything to protect her just like Ryan tries to keep Abbi protected as experienced in the first book.
We are introduced to new characters in this book and how they are connect I was given an ARC of Cherish Me which is the second book in the Protected Love series. We are introduced to new characters in this book and how they are connected to Judy. Judy and Jace grew up without a family. And the bond with their friends have developed in to a family like feeling and they are excited having this kind of connection that they didn't have with their own. The development of the characters was fantastic.
We were given background information on all of them and saw them go through physical pain, emotional pain, happy times and some frightening times. The book is one that you don't want to put down. Jennifer continues the intrigue of what is going to happen next and keeps you wanting more. I thought this book was amazing yet again we are left with what will happen with the characters next.

Jace is a hot ex-military man and part owner of a protection agency bodyguard.
Judy is a feisty bartender and they meet when their friends Ryan and Abbi get together. I thought it was great that Judy and Jace start off as a strong, committed couple and only get closer as the book progresses. He is loving and dominate at the same time, just wants to keep her safe at all costs.
Judy is strong and doesn't let him walk all over her. She is a loyal sister and friend even when she thinks her friends are wronging her and possibly putting her in danger. Very well written, hot, action packed and sometimes very sweet, Cherish Me is a great follow up to Protect Me. Definitely a series to add to your TBR.

I thought I knew for sure who was going to have a book after book 1, but with the addition of some characters in this book, there is hope that this will be more than a 3 book series! Gotta love the hot VIP Bodyguards! Oct 26, Jenny Brightman Harris rated it really liked it. I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review. This book starts up slightly after protect me. Judy is still recovering from being shot in protect me and is still having lingering fear that someone will come and get her again. Jace is doing everything he can to protect Judy not only from anything that might hurt her outside the apartment but from her own fears from time to time.
As soon as Jace hears of this both him and Ryan agree no one will get close enough to touch their women again. This is a great story about what happens after you almost loose your life. Judy is recovering from her gunshot wound, Jace is super sweet, super sexy.
There is so much I want to say about the story, but I don't like giving out spoilers too much, I think it does actually take away the enjoyment of the read. I have to say this though, it kept me on the edge of my seat. One thing that stood out was when Judy found out his age. I wasn't sure what she I read the first book in this series and loved it, couldn't wait to read this one. I wasn't sure what she was going to do. The suspense in this read was awesome.
Protecting What's His (Line of Duty, #1) by Tessa Bailey
The first book was brilliant, I didn't think Jennifer Culbreth could top that, but I can see her growth with this book. Its a best seller from me! So Jennifer, when or if you read this, hurry up! I really mean, I loved it. I just wish I had the 3rd book to start right away. And what can I say? This is book two in the Protected Love series and picks up where book one ended with a cliffhanger, which is why I highly recommend to read book one first if you haven't already ; You just have to love both Jace and Judy who both have been let down as children and slowly begin to build a family themselves, including Abbi and Ryan who we met in the first book.
In book one Judy was shot and in book two she still suffers from the nightmares that followed - and the threat continues Oh, yeah, and not forget to mention the sizzling hot scenes between Jace and Judy Jennifer creates an intense and enthralling and partially sizzling hot!
