Ich habe als Podcasterin drei Preise bekommen: Konrad, her brother, who was cleverer, lifted the nut on at once, peeled it with his teeth and said: I do not mind this bitter shell, for I know that it comes with a sweet core inside, and so the taste is better to me. Pay no bother to bitterness That pleases you with a sweet reward.
Recommended for German reading that is short and not too difficult. This is a book of German parables written in the nineteenth century by a minister to teach morality to children.
Using stories centered around trees, flowers, birds, and other animals, with children as the main characters, they illustrate the importance of honesty, kindness, loyalty, diligence, and other virtues. I find them a delightful way to improve my reading proficiency in German. The stories are short and unrelated, so you can read them a little at a time. I enjoy them more on my Kindle, which has a German-English dictionary, than using the Kindle app on my Android phone, which so far allows me only to use the default German-German dictionary.
I've requested twice to fix that, but so far have gotten only vague promises. An excellent book for young and adult. I am learning German and this book for children is perfect for my level of comprehension. The stories really are little [kleine] and though I have already read quite a few, the vast number will keep me learning for quite some time. Cute old fashioned stories written for previous centuries readers! Some quite hilarious, though meant to be serious.
I have read this book to improve German reading after a few years of limited practise. Some words and expressions are dated, however this is a valuable book for easy German reading. The book is also helpful to understand the social environment of the early XIX century in Germany. It's quite specific, but very useful for beginners in the field of german literature.
